{"id":1329,"date":"2017-08-21T15:10:28","date_gmt":"2017-08-21T13:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cortedacqua.it\/the-territory\/regional-park-of-euganean-hills\/arqua-petrarca\/"},"modified":"2018-01-16T16:08:37","modified_gmt":"2018-01-16T15:08:37","slug":"arqua-petrarca","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cortedacqua.it\/en\/the-territory\/regional-park-of-euganean-hills\/arqua-petrarca\/","title":{"rendered":"Arqu\u00e0 Petrarca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The village of Arqu\u00e0 Petrarca is a small town of medieval origins (about 2000 inhabitants) where the poet Francesco Petrarca lived the last years of his life.<br \/>\nThe present town centre maintains its fourteenth-century appearance and thanks to its suggestive aspect it has been awarded the second Prize as \u201cone of Italy\u2019s most beautiful villages\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some landmarks worth a visit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Petrarca\u2019s house<\/li>\n<li>Oratory of the Holy Trinity and Loggia dei Vicari, a Church dear to the poet, where he went to pray<\/li>\n<li>Church of Santa Maria Assunta<\/li>\n<li>Petrarca\u2019s Fountain and tomb<\/li>\n<li>Costa Lake (UNESCO site): its presence dates back to the early Bronze Age.
