The monumental complex of Valsanzibio has been defined “Little Versailles” not by chance: it is an exceptional example of baroque garden with over 60 statues carved in Istrian stone. The garden of Valsanzibio was built between 1665 and 1696 and today is one of the largest and most complete of the world’s historic gardens; it was awarded as ‘The most beautiful garden in Italy’ in 2003 and won the third prize as ‘The most beautiful in Europe’ in 2007. In more than 10 hectares of surface you can find over 60 statues carved in Istrian stone and as many minor sculptures, creeks, waterfalls, fountains and ponds. In addition, other important stops of the tour are the visit of the Maze, the Hermit Cave, the Rabbit Island, and the Monument to Time.
